What is your connection to the UW Carbone Cancer Center?
I was introduced to the UWCCC by my neighbor, two-time cancer survivor, and fellow board member, Anthony Racki.  My wife and I were looking for ways to give back to the community, and when Anthony and his wife invited us to one of the Kickoff events a few years ago we felt like it was a great organization to support.  We have attended most events since then, and have been sponsors of several of the events as well.

What is your favorite ELB / UWCCC event?
While they are all fun events, I really enjoyed the lab tour I was able to attend. Hearing directly from a doctor and touring the labs where the magic happens was interesting.  The doctors and researchers are problem solvers who act quickly to find the best course of treatment for each individual patient based on their unique circumstances.

What is something interesting about you?
I enjoy cooking and do most of the cooking for my family.  I learned to cook at a young age in order to satisfy my curiosity and love of food. I can’t say I made anything noteworthy as a kid, but my favorite things to make now are paella, grilled pizza, and anything Mexican.

Where is your favorite vacation spot?
Hawaii.  My wife and I went to Maui for our honeymoon in 2008, and went back to Maui and also Kauai for our 10-year anniversary in 2018. Kauai is so beautiful, very relaxed, and fairly undeveloped yet.

Good food and good wine.
