What is your connection to the UW Carbone Cancer Center?
Both my mother and grandmother have had cancer. My mother beat it but my grandmother did not. In honor of them I felt obligated to help fight this disease so hopefully less people have to go through what they and our family went through. It affects so many people in so many different ways. In addition, our son was treated at the Children’s hospital and we were so impressed we wanted to help raise awareness for the UW Hospital system and the work they do.
What is your favorite ELB / UWCCC event?
Munich to Madison is fantastic. Great people, great food, great beer all going to a great cause. What more could you ask for. I’m probably a little bias since I get to see all the hard work that goes in to it so experiencing the event makes it that much more special. The MadCity Pond Hockey Championships is another one that is an awesome event. Definitely check it out of you have never been. In general I think Carbone and the individuals that put on events to support Carbone have so many fantastic events that raise awareness & funds.
What is something interesting about you?
I grew up on a Dairy farm in eastern Iowa. When I was young I was crowned “Little Sir Dairyman” of Jones County. That’s right…royalty.
Where is your favorite vacation spot?
Everyone has a guilty pleasure. What is yours?
I’ve got quite a list but if I had to pick one its Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I can’t stop.
